This publishing design project brief was to create age-appropriate educational resources for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children targeted specifically to introduce, educate and motivate the reader about Parliament and the different areas, people and traditions within it and to let them know how to get involved and have their say.
We produced a storybook for Key Stage 1 children and a workbook with accompanying teacher’s notes and activity sheets for Key Stage 2. As full book packaging project we managed the whole process from curriculum planning, copy writing, copy editing and proofreading along with artwork commissioning and image sourcing right through to concept design and page layout. We undertook two waves of user testing with both students and teachers to ensure we were pitching the books at the right level. Once the English versions were completed, we translated both manuscripts to Welsh and adapted the layouts to accommodate dual language (Welsh/English) copy, managing all aspects of the process.

“We are delighted at the recognition these resources have received and hope they help pupils learn more about how the UK Parliament works while developing transferable skills.”
